Venice Garage
original music and surfboard design

Mark Rivett Surfboards are conceived, designed and shaped by hand to suit local conditions. The beach breaks of Venice and Santa Monica are predominantly small to medium in size with a tendency to close out and this style of board works particularly well here in a wide range of conditions. They have great straight line speed and the short length gives you maneuverability, while the width and thickness provide the floatation and paddling power to get into waves early.
Right now, I shape three basic models, the stubby, super fat little "OP Bar Of Soap" twin keel and it's lop-sided cousin, the "OP Asymmetrical", the "Whale Shark" twin keel Fish, so called because of it's blunt concave nose, and the 'Fish Nose' Quad.
But, I love experimenting with new ideas and I'm up for anything, so feel free to give me your input and together we can design and shape the perfect board for you.
BTW, there's always a few boards in the garage board-rack just waitin' for a test ride.........!!!
